For this devlog I decided to scrap the old inventory system that I started and create a new one from scratch. I also started the mechanics for the farm with proper growth mechanics over time that can be adjusted.
Inventory System:
- -Able to add and subtract amounts from any item with proper protection from adding to much or removing to much.
- -Ability to add a greater capacity to any item with any amount.
- -A file saving system that will save and load from a save file.
- -UI elements and Tabs for different types of resources and products
- -Crop tab
- -Wood, stone, and ore tab
- -Products tab
Farming mechanics so far:
- Ability to plan a crop in a specific designated plot.
- Event system that will check if crop had enough time to grow and send a growth update
- Crop will update and grow to its next stage until at final stage.
- Can harvest and replant crop
I still want to add more to the farming mechanic such as needing to water the crops and the need of using resources to plant the crop. Along with the player receiving the crop after harvest with a random amount and if the player has a specific tool the amount will be multiplied by a set amount.
